Serving Others is..

the practice of serving in and through the local church. At Live Oak, we serve others by using our spiritual gifts to strengthen our church community, we serve locally to show the love of Christ to our neighbors in need, and we serve globally to help make disciples of all nations.

We believe God has uniquely gifted you to servein the local church. The Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 12:7 (NLT), “A spiritual gift is given to each of us for the common good.” And when you use your gift the whole church benefits. Paul said itthis way, “Jesus makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.” (Ephesians 4:16 NLT)

So, if you’re just watching, not using your gifts, the church is missing out on what you have to offer, and you’re missing out on seeing God move in you and through you!

An easy way to get involved in serving others is to join a ministry team on Sunday mornings. There are many ways to serve, and we could always use more help. When you decide to serve, you contribute to the growth of the whole church body, making it strong and healthy, and as a by-product, you grow too.
